Day 6. Seven devils, anyone?

This morning I had seven devils for breakfast. What is that, you ask.

A type of beer? No, but that would have been an excellent idea.

Seven eggs done easy over with a side of bacon drowned in Siracha sauce? No, but that also sounds like a great idea.

The seven devils are a group of hills that any cyclis following the pacific route will encounter when riding from Sunset bay to Humbug state park. They are aptly named so because after the first initial steeeeeep 500 foot climb to the head of the first hill you then proceed to dip and climb over 6 more hills ranging up to 750 feet.
Not exactly what one might consider the ideal start to any day.

The aptly names road

What IS fun however is the steeeep decent down whiskey run road, aptly named after the drunk person who built the narrow road that dips and turns wildly around blind corners. My book calls it ” exhilarating”, I personally find the word ” suicidal” more appropriate.
